Heat seal to
polyester/cotton fabrics. Do not apply to rayon, nylon, or tri-acetate
fabrics. Once applied, appliqué is permanently attached to garment and
is washable, dryable and dry cleanable. It is recommended that the
garment be turned inside out during washing.
EMBROIDERED PATCHES
USING AN IRON:
1. Pre-heat iron to “cotton” setting. DO NOT USE STEAM DURING
APPLICATION
2. Position appliqué on garment and cover design with thin pressing
cloth.
3. Press straight down for 25 seconds with constant pressure - NO BACK
AND FORTH MOTION.
4. Allow to cool thoroughly before using.
USING A HEAT SEAL MACHINE:
350 degrees for 20 seconds OR 375 degrees for 15 seconds with medium
pressure.
BEADED, SEQUIN, PUFFY AND VINYL PATCHES
For beaded, sequin, puffy and vinyl design appliqués, heat must be
applied from
the back. Place appliqué on garment and cover with protective cloth.
Apply heat
for 5-7 seconds to hold design in place. Turn over and heat from the
back for
20-25 seconds. Check your fabric to be sure it can tolerate the required
heat.
If necessary, reduce heat and extend dwell time. You may need to
experiment
until you find the ideal combination of time.
Problem
Solving
Occasionally an appliqué may loosen on the edges after washing. This
is usually due to using an iron that does not heat to the proper
temperature (too cool) even if the setting was correct. If this happens
we recommend using a different iron to heat seal the patch a second
time. A permanent fabric glue (used for rhinestones) available at crafts
and fabric stores may also be used.
